Why Choose Pet Microchipping at Our Rancho Peñasquitos Clinic?
Discover the benefits of veterinary microchipping performed in a calm, clinical setting. We offer fast, safe, and effective permanent ID services for pets in Rancho Peñasquitos and surrounding San Diego communities.
Permanent ID
Say goodbye to lost tags and collars. All microchips work via RFID technology to provide a permanent and reliable ID for your pet.
Fits Any Visit
We can microchip your pet during a wellness check, dental cleaning, or vaccine appointment—no need to schedule a separate trip.
Stress-Free Visits
Our clean, quiet clinic helps reduce anxiety. Microchipping is quick and gentle, minimizing stress for you and your pet during the appointment.
Reuniting Made Easy
A microchip provides a reliable way to help lost pets get home. When scanned, it connects your pet directly to your up-to-date contact information.
What to Expect During Your Pet’s Microchipping Appointment
Here’s how our team performs microchipping at Black Mountain Animal Hospital—from your pet’s exam to post-care instructions, all in one efficient visit.
Health Assessment
During your scheduled appointment, your veterinarian will conduct a complete health check to ensure your pet is healthy and ready for microchip placement.
Microchip Placement
The microchip, about the size of a grain of rice, is inserted beneath the skin between the shoulder blades using a sterile, specialized needle for a quick, gentle procedure.
Placement Verification
Once the chip is placed, we’ll scan the area to confirm the microchip is active and properly positioned. We also ensure your pet is relaxed and comfortable post-procedure.
Chip ID Setup
We guide you through linking your pet’s chip ID to your contact details to ensure it’s up to date—so if your pet is ever lost, they can be returned quickly and safely.
